Beefcake

Ingredients

  • 250 g Minced Beef
  • 60 g Butter
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 Eggs
  • 375 g grated semi-firm Cheese
  • 3 tablespoons Water
  • 11/2 teaspoons Salt
  • Pepper to taste

 

 You will need
A frying pan with lid, a mixing bowl, an egg whisk and a wooden spoon
 

Directions

  • Heat the butter in the frying pan and fry the beef quickly whilst breaking up the lumps
  • Finely chop the onion and add to the pan
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Beat the eggs and water together and stir in all but 1/2 cup of the grated cheese
  • stir into the pan mixture
  • Spread out evenly and firm down
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top
  • Put a lid on the frying pan and cook over a moderate heat for around ten minutes
  • Turn the beefcake out onto a plate.
  • Return it to the right side up onto another plate
