Deep Fried Wombats


Deep Fried Wombats


  • 4 tablespoons Sausage Meat
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Chopped Parsley
  • 3 hard boiled Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 1 beaten Egg
  • 4 tablespoons Bread Crumbs
  • frying Oil
  • Parsley sprigs

You will need
A knife, a cutting board, an egg beater and sweet chili sauce


This recipe is for six pieces only. Extend the recipe for the number of serves required

  • Mix sausage mince, salt and chopped parsley well
  • Remove shells from eggs
  • Cover the eggs with sausage mince retaining egg shape
  • Lightly dust with flour
  • Cover in beaten egg
  • toss in bread crumbs and refrigerate to firm.
  • Fry for around five minutes in hot oil.
  • Drain on paper towel
  • Cut each in halves lengthwise
  • Top with a dob of sweet chili sauce and a sprig of parsley
