Grandpa Pencil's Recipe

Cherry Creams


Cherry Creams


  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 pinch Cream of Tartar
  • 100 g Preserved Cherries
  • 2 teaspoons Butter


 You will need
A saucepan, a mixing spoon, greaseproof or waxed paper and Swiss roll tin/s


  • Place milk and sugar into a saucepan
  • Stir over a low heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture boils
  • Add cream of tartar and cherries
  • Stir and bring to boiling point then add butter
  • Remove the spoon and boil for 6 minutes
  • Cool slightly and stir until the mixture thickens
  • Press into Swiss roll tin/s lined with waxed or greaseproof paper
  • Turn out and cut into pieces when cold
