Recipe for
Onion Sauce


Ingredients
  • 2 medium chopped Onions
  • 65 ml Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 20 g (1 tablespoon) Butter

  • 1 tablespoon Plain Flour
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 185 ml hot Milk
  • 1 teaspoon chopped Parsley
 

You will need
A sharp knife, a cutting board, a saucepan, a jug or bowl and a wooden spoon

 

Directions

  • Place onions, lemon and water in a pan and cook until onions are soft
  • Strain the onions and retain the liquid
  • Melt butter in the pan and stir in the flour cooking gently until bubbly
  • Remove from the heat and gradually stir in the milk and the onion liquid

  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly until thick and smooth
  • Fold in the parsley and cook for a further 1 minute
