Recipe for
Pea Soup


Ingredients
  • 200 g Split Peas
  • 2 1/2 lt. Water
  • Some Bacon Bones
  • 12 Peppercorns

  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Onion
  • 5 g Dried Mint
  • 20 g Flour
  • 1 pinch Curry Powder

 

You will need
A mixing bowl, a large saucepan with lid, a sharp knife, a cutting board, a course strainer and a wooden spoon

 

Directions

  • Soak peas overnight in some of the water
  • Place in large saucepan with bacon bones, salt, Peppercorns,and remaining water
  • Bring slowly to the boil
  • Dice onions and add to the pan

  • Cook slowly for 3 hours with the lid on
  • Push through a course strainer a cup at a time
  • Return to the saucepan adding the dried mint
  • blend the flour smoothly with cold water
  • Add to soup and bring to the boil
