Recipe for
Soda Batter


Ingredients
  • Mixture for four thick fish fillets
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 2 Eggs

  • 60g melted Butter/Margarine
  • 1 cup Soda Water
  • Salt to taste
 

You will need
A mixing bowl, a sifter, a wooden spoon and an egg whisk

 

Directions

  • Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and make a well in the middle
  • Lightly whisk one whole egg and one egg yoke
  • Pour into the well in the flour along with the melted butter
  • Stir the flour slowly into the egg mix while adding the soda water bit by bit

  • Stir until smooth
  • Cover and leave stand in a warm place for about an hour
  • Just prior to use whisk the remaining egg white to a stiff consistency and fold into the batter
