Grandpa Pencil's Recipe

Stuffed Hamburger


Stuffed Hamburger


  • 750g Hamburger Mince
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 30g melted Butter
  • 1 cup fresh Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 teaspoons chopped Parsley
  • 1/2 Chopped Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon finely cut Chives
  • 30g Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated Lemon Rind


 You will need
A pastry brush, a fork, a cutting board, a mixing bowl and a small saucepan


  • Mix the hamburger mince, the Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper with a fork
  • place on a suitable board and press out to flat cake
  • Cut into 12 even pieces and shape into thin flat patties and put aside
  • Mix the breadcrumbs, beaten egg, 30 g butter, herbs, salt and pepper and lemon rind together lightly with a fork
  • Put even quantities of the filling mix on each of six patties
  • Place the other six patties on top of the first and press down the edges
  • Brush the completed patties with the rest of the butter
  • Grill on a preheated grill rack (oiled) on high for around 5 minutes each side
  • Pop onto crusty rolls with your favourite sauce
