Cornflour Clay

 


 


The recipe
Ingredients

2 cups Baking Soda

1 cup Cornflour (Cornstarch)

1 1/2 cups Water

Food Colouring if desired

 

You will need
A saucepan, a pastry board,a wooden spoon, a damp cloth and an air tight storage container 

 

Directions

Mix Baking Soda and Cornflour in a saucepan.

Add the water slowly, mixing over a low heat

Stir continually to prevent lumps.

Cook until the mixture looks like mashed potatoes.

Spread on a pastry board and cover with a damp cloth to cool.

Kneed well when cool (ten minutes or so).

Store cornflour clay in an airtight container until used.

Add food colour to suit if coloured clay is required .

Bake clay creations at 95 degrees c (200 f) for 1 1/2 to 3 hours depending upon it's size.

Cool and dry for at least 24 hours.

 

Your model can be painted when fully dry and all models should be sealed against moisture.
